THE Kinderton Hotel reopened its doors on Friday, March 8 after a nine-week closure to refurbish the interior of the hotel and residents believe it was worth the wait.

The design work for the refurbishments was led by Vinny Smith, managing director of Northern Backdrop Interior Design and the owners Shaun and Karen Ellison, Colin and Jeannette Thompson and Chris Latham are delighted with the work.

Karen said: “With Vinny’s direction we wanted to create a local venue for Middlewich which not only produces fantastic food but also an environment which generates a great atmosphere and we hope we have achieved this.

“This couldn’t have been done though without the dedicated team of local tradesman who transformed our plans into a reality.

“Hough Construction as lead contractor, working with Neil Hopley Electrical Contractors and a whole host of other local skilled workers have not only been able to produce an exceptional finished project but they also did it on time.”

The refurbishments have been praised by residents who have visited since the official reopening.

Shaun said: “The feedback over the opening weekend has been so positive and we have been extremely busy with the new restaurant and cocktail menus proving to be particularly popular.

“We would like to thank the whole community for the overwhelming support we have received.”

The designs for the refurbishments by Vinny Smith were inspired by the area surrounding the hotel.

Vinny said: “I went for a walk along the canal to take a break from working on site and figured that it might be more interesting to actually take some key local features and landmarks and translate those ideas directly into the design finishes.”

“Every internal detail has a direct analogy to something that you would see on the walk.

“The back bar is a sandstone finish, representing St Michael’s Church and the brickwork is reminiscent of the old fire station and the white washed canal bridges.”
