A BETTING giant and a takeaway are among the town's business who have been fined for employing illegal workers.
The Home Office has published a list of employers who were handed illegal working civil penalties between April and September last year.
And Betfred, whose headquarters is in Birchwood, and Hood Manor takeaway Top Taste were among those named and shamed on the list.
Done Brothers Cash Betting Ltd, which trades as Betfred and is based at the former Spectrum Arena on Benson Road, was fined a total of £15,000.
Meanwhile, Top Taste - registered at the Hood Manor Centre on Dorchester Road - was handed a fine of £10,000.

Businesses were included on the list after receiving penalties for not complying with illegal working legislation and either not making regular payments towards them or being served with further penalty notices.
Sankey Sizzlers - a takeaway based in the same unit as Top Taste's registered address - told the Warrington Guardian that Top Taste was a separate company which no longer existed.
Betfred has not responded to a request for comment.
