A Llanidloes school says it is “very grateful” to receive a defibrillator from a local junior football club.

The new life-saving heart start kit was presented to Llanidloes CP School by Llanidloes Junior Football Club to help improve the availability of defibrillators in the town and surrounding areas.

The defibrillator was installed on a wall at the front of the primary school facing Llangurig Road by local electrician and Llanidloes Town Football Club’s David Jerman.

Elen Chennetier, headteacher, said: “We are so very grateful to the Llanidloes Junior Football Club for their donation of a defibrillator for our local community. The defibrillator is housed at the front of the primary school but, of course, available for the whole community to use.

“We are also very grateful to David Jerman who fitted the defibrillator and to Annette Macken from St John’s Ambulance who is training staff and Year 6 pupils on how to use it.”
