ALL sorts of fun free events are giving people a chance to try new things to make them feel better.

Wellbeing Winsford Week aims to provide residents with fresh opportunities to live healthier lives, meet new people and stay connected to their community.

Various groups and organisations are taking part in a Wellbeing Marketplace at Winsford Cross Shopping Centre today.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service volunteers will tell people how they could make a difference to their communities by offering informative, educational and practical help.

People can improve their CV and communication skills and increase their confidence.

A pop-up library information stand will give residents an insight into the various services provided by Winsford and Wharton libraries.

As well as a wide selection of books, readers now have access to free wifi, computers, health and wellbeing initiatives, e-books and e-magazines.

Basil, the Macmillan information bus will be in Fountain Square for people who have unanswered questions or fears about cancer.

Private booths will be available for personal and discreet enquiries so there is no need to feel embarrassed to ask awkward questions.

A team of experts will be on hand to offer support and advice to people affected by or caring for people with cancer.

Motherwell Cheshire, a charity supporting mums, will be providing information about their services.

Work Zone will have details of confidence workshops, counselling services and courses to help people find a job.

Many more groups, charities and organisations will be at the shopping centre from 10am to 2.30pm on Saturday.

It is a chance to find out about various health and wellbeing opportunities.

Earlier in the week, families had fun at the Dingle Centre as children took part in a variety of games and activities.

Youngsters enjoyed Xbox challenges, a wildgoose adventure trail, teddy bear's picnic and smoothie bike.

Activities also included celebrations, social gatherings, exercise classes, workshops, talks and information events.
