CLOTHING left on an electric heater led to firefighters being called out to the Verdin Exchange in High Street yesterday, Wednesday.
A crew from Winsford was called to the building at 3.30pm, following reports of a smoke alarm sounding.
The found the ground floor heavily smoke-logged.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "On arrival the crew discovered clothing smouldering on an electric heater and that the ground floor of the commercial building was heavily smoke-logged.
"Firefighters used a large fan to clear the smoke and made sure that the clothing and the heater were safe.
"They were in attendance for more than an hour."
