AN eight-year-old girl has organised a tea party in aid of charity.

Evie Baldwin, from Fearnhead, has planned the event as part of Mencap’s Big Tea Party scheme.

It follows a new year’s resolution by the Locking Stumps Community Primary School pupil to raise funds for charity during 2019.

Mum Rebecca said: “Evie is doing a lot of fundraising this year after she decided to make a new year’s resolution to raise money for charity, and this was one of the events she wanted to hold.

“She decided to help a few charities that are close to her heart, and she had some assessments last year to do with the autistic spectrum.

Warrington Guardian:

“Everything we raise on the day will go towards the charity - every pound in the pot will go to Mencap.

“The charity helps people with learning disabilities - helping people get into daily working life, to get out and find jobs and give them help with their education.”

The tea party will take place from 11am to 2pm on Sunday, April 7, at Fearnhead Cross Youth and Community Centre on Insall Road.

Entry is £3 on the door including sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks.

Activities include live music, crafts, facepainting and raffles - with £3 picnic bags also available for kids.

It is hoped that the event will raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

Rebecca added: “Evie has really taken to it - it looks like she will be making a career out of this when she’s older.

“She’s been going around with letters asking for donations, and we’ve got a big batch of thank you letters to give out too.

“We’ve got raffles, a face painter, design your own teacup, old-fashioned cutlery and live entertainment including a singer.

“We’re very proud of her.”
