THE new Warmingham Lane Village Hall has officially reopened after five years of construction.

An opening event was held on Saturday, February 16 to celebrate the new hall with the community.

Simon Moss, Village Hall Committee chairman, said: “The new hall has taken five years to achieve.

“I pay tribute to the Lottery Community Fund, WREN and all of the local community who have been involved with fund-raising events to make this possible.

“Our architect, Bower-Edleston, and contractor, Sneyd, have given us a building to be proud of.”

The opening involved ribbon-cutting by Nora Machin and Sophia Grace Treanor, villagers representing the oldest and youngest in the community to remind residents that use of the Hall is intended for young and old alike.

Attendees were treated to a selection of treats provided by Beech Tree Catering and drinks.

The new hall also has a king-sized fully-equipped kitchen which was funded from a portion of the £50,000 grant from WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund.

The hall has already taken a number of bookings and is looking forward to enquiries from potential users.
