A MUM-of-three who smuggled steroids into HMP Risley has been jailed.

Alison Sleigh took a total of 91 illicit tablets into Risley prison - where one of her sons is currently serving time.

The 31-year-old has now been jailed herself because of her actions, being handed an eight-week imprisonment at Liverpool Crown Court earlier this month by judge Neil Flewitt.

Sleigh, from Bolton, claimed that she had been threatened by family members of other inmates before she smuggled in £150 worth of steroids into the prison.
