A WEEK of wellbeing activities is being held in Winsford.

All sorts of special events are taking place across the town from Monday, February 18 to Saturday, February 23.

This annual event promises to be bigger and better than ever before and concludes with a bustling marketplace event on the Saturday from 10am to 2.30pm.

Lots of stalls offering information, practical tips and advice will be at Winsford Cross Shopping Centre.

A wealth of health and wellbeing initiatives offer people the chance to try something new, meet people, discuss issues and find out how to improve their lifestyle.

Activities range from celebrations, gatherings and exercise classes to workshops, talks and information events.

The focus of the week is to provide local residents with fresh opportunities to live healthier lives whilst being encouraged to meet new people and stay connected to their community.

Laughter yoga, fruit kebab making, zumba, Tai Chi, a nutritional talk, family fun day, crafts and storytime are just some of the many activities on offer.

Live entertainment from singers, a choir and ukulele band will launch the celebration at 10am on Monday, February 18 at the Dingle Centre on High Street.

Winsford Town Cllr Ailsa Gaskill-Jones has been working with more than 30 partners who have teamed up to form a Wellbeing Winsford Hub to help improve the health and wellbeing of residents.

The Liberal Democrat councillor hopes as many people as possible will take part.

A colour leaflet giving details of all the week's programme has been sponsored and designed by Brightlife and is available from the council offices at Wyvern House.

It lists all the dates and times of workshops, discussions, exercise sessions and taster classes.

Money saving vouchers to use at Cornerstone Inns venues in Winsford will be available to pick up during the week.
