A FREE course set to transform the lives of young people is looking for new recruits from Winsford.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service starts a new Prince's Trust programme on Monday, January 28.

The 12-week course gives young people the chance to learn new skills, complete qualifications and gain greater self-confidence.

Programme manager Nicky Owen said: “We are recruiting now for young people from the area so please get in touch and have a no obligation chat to see if this programme can help you."

Anyone who takes part will meet new people, improve their confidence and develop employability skills. They will also gain qualifications such as first aid and get to attend a graduation event at the end of the programme.

Mr Owen added: “I would also urge anyone who knows of a young person that would benefit from taking part in the programme to get in touch."

Experience shows that 80 per cent of all graduates have gone on to achieve things as a result, this includes getting back into or going forward into education or gaining employment and training.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have a long, strong and proud partnership with The Prince's Trust for 25 years and continue to see the benefits that arise from the work it does.

The programme aims to move young people into full time employment and job-related training.

During the 12 weeks the team will raise money to complete a community project and a four day residential with team building activities.

The course will also will include the opportunity to gain food hygiene and first aid courses, health and safety and driving awareness training.

The course will be held at New Images on Nixon Drive in Winsfgord.

Partner agencies can also refer young people to the programme.
