Experts will at a special stand in Wyvern House on Monday, January 21, from 10am to 1pm, showing people how they can save money on fuel and energy bills and offering energy-related giveaways.

Citizens Advice is taking part in the Big Energy Saving Week.

Qwest Energy has recently introduced a highly competitive low-cost fuel tariff September 21, offering fixed standing and unit rate charges to September 2021.

This initiative will support local residents in Cheshire West and will help towards the council`s plan for 2016-20 to eradicate fuel poverty in the borough.

Offering 100 per cent renewable electricity as standard, Qwest Energy has also introduced the Qwest Energy Community Fund, which could see up to £600,000 invested back into local initiatives over the next five years.

Citizens Advice staff will be giving advice on the benefits of the Priority Services Register from Tuesday, January 22 to Friday, January 25, from 9am until 12 noon.

This offers additional support to people most in need, such as pensioners, disabled, chronically sick or with sight/hearing difficulties.

Councillor Karen Shore, cabinet member for environment, said: “Big Energy Saving Week has a history across the country of helping people to save money on their essential bills.

“They have benefitted through making savings by finding out how to change supplier and making energy efficiency savings such as draught proofing, turning appliances off.

“Public services are working together effectively at Wyvern House to help our communities to thrive and this is one of a number of events planned this year which will benefit the people of Winsford.”
