A CHARITY that provides employment, training and development opportunities for people in Winsford is seeking volunteers.

Changing Lives in Cheshire (CLiC) provides good quality items for people on low income.

The enterprise protects the environment by reusing and recycling pre-loved furniture and elecrical goods.

CLiC is now looking for volunteers to assemble flat pack furniture that has been donated by local retailers.

There is a challenge though - the instructions might not be there or there could be bits missing!

Th volunteering opportunity is a chance for people to keep fit, stay healthy, gain job skills, socialise and get stuck in whilst giving back to charity for a good cause.

Volunteers are required for four hours or more and will receive out-of-pocket expenses, safety boots, lunches and hot drinks.

One mum who volunteers said: “I volunteered because, as a lone parent, I wanted to get out of the house and speak to other adults. "It’s been fantastic for building my confidence. I started by assembling furniture but I’m now learning woodwork skills. If I can do it, anyone can – give it a go, what have you got to lose?”

CLiC has a warehouse on Road Two at Winsford Industrial Estate and a shop at Winsford Cross.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can call Carol Halpin on 01606 827120.
