PARENTS and carers with children due to start primary school this September are being reminded that the deadline for applications is fast approaching.

Cheshire West and Chester Council will accept applications until January 15, for children born between September 1, 2014 and August 31 2015.

Those who apply online will be able to access their account after 12.30am on the national offer day, April 16, to view their allocated school place.

It is likely that late applicants would be at a disadvantage if their preferred school is oversubscribed.

Cllr Nicole Meardon, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “Starting school is an important and exciting stage in your child’s life.

“There is lots of information available on our website and in our booklet to help guide you through the application process and the team are available to speak to should you have any questions.

“To ensure that your application is not disadvantaged please make sure that you get your application in by the January 15 deadline.”
