WINNINGTON Park Rugby Football Club has received help from a homebuilder to tackle a storage solution.

Redrow has donated £500 to the club from its Hartford Community Fund to enable storage containers to be moved to create additional parking spaces at the Burrows Hill ground.

David Snasdell, assistant chairperson of Winnington Park RFC, said: “The project for the club during this year’s close season was to move our two shipping containers which store our training equipment. By moving them away from the car park area it will allow car parking of up to 12 additional vehicles.

“We’re grateful to Redrow for helping fund the move as it’s made the club house more presentable for community groups hiring our facilities and created extra parking spaces, which is particularly relevant on Sundays when we have hundreds of children playing rugby at the club.

"It’s also enabled us to create an easily accessible secure compound for the tractor and grass cutting equipment.”

Winnington Park RFC is one of 30 local causes to have benefitted from the support of Redrow through community funds linked to the Hartford Grange, Weaver Park and Waters Reach developments.

Caroline Thompson-Jones, area sales manager for Redrow Homes north west, said: “Since 2016 we’ve directly invested more than £20,000 in local community projects helping ensure that as Hartford grows it continues to be a great place to live.

"Winnington Park Rugby Football Club is the oldest established rugby club in the Northwich area and a hive of activity welcoming hundreds of local people each week.

"We were happy to be able to help the club improve facilities for visitors and the volunteers who tend to the ground.”
