CHESHIRE East Council have granted planning permission for the first floor of a Wheelock Street takeaway to be converted into a two-bedroom flat.

The first floor of Paragon Chinese Takeaway is currently used for storage, but the new plans include a separate storage building within the site boundary.

A planning statement said: “The proposed store building would be located to the rear of the property, would be well screened from the highway and would not raise any concerns in relation to the visual amenity of the area or the character of the conservation area.

“It is not considered that the development would have significant detrimental impact upon the visual amenities of the area, or the residential amenity of neighbouring properties and future occupiers of the application property. Nor would the proposal raise any highway safety concerns.”

The proposed change of use of the first floor to a flat would not involve any extensions or any additional windows.

Environmental Health have raised no objections in consideration of both neighbouring and future occupiers.
