CHILDREN at Hebden Green School in Winsford are celebrating after winning gold in the Panathlon Challenge swimming gala.
Pupils said it was a really tough competition but by pulling together, they achieved success.
The ecstatic youngsters say they might now need a bigger trophy cabinet at their school on Woodford Lane West.
Pupils travelled to Deebank School in Chester to compete against teams from across Cheshire.
They now go through to the regional finals.
Head teacher Alison Ashley said: "I am so incredibly proud of each member of the team, I know how hard each of them swam.
"Every pupil was pitched against similar pupils, worked really hard and won!
"They represented our school’s values of kindness and being good sports. They cheered the other schools and celebrated when they won their races.
"Each of member is wonderful and I can’t wait for the north west stage of the competition. A bigger cabinet is on order!"
