A FIRE crew attended a chimney fire in West Way, Holmes Chapel, at 9.30pm last night.
On arrival the team found smoke coming from the chimney of a gas fire.
They initially isolated the gas supply, then used a large fan to clear the smoke from the property.
Crews then entered the loft, where they discovered a birds nest had fallen down the chimney.
The team removed all of the hot embers and cleared the blockage, then used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots.
Firefighters were at the scene for one hour and 10 minutes.
