DANCER and Prancer were popular festive visitors at Egerton Primary School.
The reindeer from the farm at Tatton Park were a huge hit with pupils after paying a visit with elves Jayne Chapman and Elly Edwards.
Dancer and Prancer were led by the elves through the town, from the park’s town entrance, to the school, at one point using a zebra crossing.
Jayne and Elly told the children fascinating facts about the reindeer, such as why they have furry noses and big feet, and the school kitchen provided carrots for the hungry reindeer to enjoy.
“The children were delighted and really excited to see Prancer and Dancer because it’s such a magical time of year - some of them had never seen a real reindeer," said Jayne.
“We told them how the reindeer are adapted to living at the North Pole, and asked them what they were going to leave for Prancer and Dancer on Christmas Eve.
“Elly and I love being elves – what could be better at this time of year?”
The children have adopted Prancer, and will receive a certificate and invitation to visit the reindeer at Tatton Park farm.
Egerton pupils have been performing on stage for their parents and grandparents, with the infants and juniors putting on nativity plays, the infants’ show entitled The Inn-Spectors.
