THE GRAND Women's Summit is set to return to Aintree Racecourse next year as part of Ladies Day celebrations.

Joining the panel will be head coach of the England Netball team Tracey Neville on Friday, April 5 alongside Telegraph columnist and bestselling author Bryony Gordon.

The two inspirational women will be discussing mental health and wellbeing in sport with other industry experts.

This year guests will have the chance to go on a course walk of the Grand National fences after the discussion and visitors will be spilt up into groups led by retired jockey and ambassador Katie Walsh, Aintree historian Jane Clarke, trainer Lawney Hill and ex-jockey Carrie Ford.

Tracey, who returned home after winning gold at the Commonwealth Games said: “I am thrilled to have the chance to join the Grand Women’s Summit at what is a really exciting time for women’s sport.

"As Head Coach of the England National Netball Team I care passionately about the mental and physical wellbeing of athletes and I look forward to being able to share my experience and learnings over the years alongside the other panellists.

"It is really exciting to be part of such a special sporting occasion and such an important date in the calendar for Liverpool.”

On the day the panel will discuss the following themes; the challenges professional sport presents to mental health, how professional athletes can look after their mental health and any learnings for the wider population, the benefits of sport for mental wellbeing, the role of coaches, organisations and support mechanisms in promoting good mental health plus discussion and sharing of best practice across different sports.

Aintree Racecourse’s managing director John Baker said: “We are delighted Bryony and Tracey will be part of the Aintree Grand Women’s Summit.

"The event is going from strength to strength and next year’s event promises to provide guests with some fantastic insights into sport, as well as a unique way to be part of the Randox Health Grand National Festival.

"We look forward to announcing further panellists in the new year.”
