A DOG who has been without a home for most of his life finally has some good news with a potential family on the cards.
Max, who is not yet two, has been living at Warrington Animal Welfare for 14 months after his previous owners could not handle him.
Julie Pickett, trustee at the shelter, said: “He’s a big Akita cross and came to us as a youngster and the people who had him were older and couldn’t cope with him.
“He’s been a hard dog to re-home, however he is currently going through a phased rehoming process whereby he spends the weekends and the evenings in a lovely home with people who want to adopt him, but he stays with us during the day while they are at work.
“They seem like dedicated owners who are going to see it through.
“He does need some on-going training and we have invested a lot of time in that.
“He goes to the St Helen’s school of behaviour every morning and he has come on leaps and bounds.”
