A WOMAN suffered serious injuries after being hit by a bus in Runcorn last night.
The woman became trapped underneath the bus after the accident on Kilncroft shortly before 10pm yesterday, Wednesday.
Two fire engines and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service’s major rescue unit attended the incident, remaining on scene for around 50 minutes.
Firefighters used high pressure airbags to lift the bus off the casualty.
She was handed into the care of paramedics before being rushed to Aintree Hospital with serious injuries.
