FESTIVE gifts have been donated to local charities by a Winsford firm.

UK Container Maintenance (UKCM) has presented more than 100 selection boxes to St Luke’s Hospice and The Joshua Tree.

The container repair and refurbishment company on Road One wanted to support charitable causes in their community.

The company donated selection boxes to St Luke’s Hospice to be given to children visiting their Christmas Grotto.

Their chocolates will also be handed out to children and families using The Joshua Tree’s services.

The company has pledged to support both charities throughout 2019.

Emma Elston MBE, founder and chief executive officer of UKCM, said: “We understand the importance of shining a light on charities which don’t always get the recognition they deserve.

" Both St Luke’s Hospice and The Joshua Tree are small, local charities which support communities in Cheshire. The work their teams do on a daily basis is truly remarkable and we are looking forward to supporting them throughout 2019.”

Andy Bailey, corporate partnerships manager at St Luke’s Hospice, said: “It’s great to see the season of goodwill is very much alive across Cheshire.

"The donation of over 100 selection boxes is a really nice gesture from UKCM, which will go down a treat with the families we support over Christmas.

"St Luke’s Hospice relies on the backing from local businesses and we are very much looking forward to working with the UKCM team through 2019 to help fundraise for our patient care services.”

St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford has been providing palliative care and support to adults across Cheshire for more than 30 years, helping individuals and their families face life-threatening illnesses.

The Joshua Tree in Northwich helps children and their families across the north west living with the life-changing effects of childhood cancers, to ensure they receive the best academic, social and emotional support, both in and out of school.

UKCM, the UK’s largest family owned container repair and refurbishment company now turns over £6 million per year and employs more than 60 people.

Dedicated to the refurbishment of all types of waste and recycling containers, the firm works across the country offering waste companies and local authorities mobile repairs, as well as factory-based services at its head office in Winsford.
