THE Northwich Festival of Arts will return for 2019, with organisers on the lookout for artists and creatives.

The festival this summer was hailed a success, and the Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) is now working to develop a repeat event.

Partners will once again include Northwich Art Shop, Visual Arts Cheshire (VAC), town centre businesses, Barons Quay and Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Aiming to showcase the cultural and artistic talent that exists in the town and surrounding area, the festival will again encompass other events throughout the month of July such as the VAC Art Trail and the Northwich River Festival, while organisers will also work with music venues, bars and cafes.

Northwich BID manager Jane Hough said: “2018’s Northwich Festival of Arts brought unique and exciting activities to the town that many people hadn’t seen before and gave them a chance to try their hand at things they wouldn’t normally think about doing."

“We’re hopeful that we’ll see even more wonderful and innovative attractions, workshops, classes and performances in 2019 and we’re encouraging groups and individuals to apply as soon as possible as places filled up quickly last year.”

Activities at the festival can take place both indoor and outdoor, with the BID looking to receive applications for the event over the next couple of months.

Performances from a range of artistic disciplines are welcomed including theatre, music, dance, film, digital arts, visual arts, pavement art, graffiti art, cartoonists and tattoo art, with practitioners needing to co-ordinate their own activities within the town centre.

To express an interest to deliver activity at the Northwich Festival of Arts 2019, individuals or groups will need to complete a short proposal which includes details about their organisation, what they will be delivering, the audience the activity is aimed at and the preferred location for delivery, amongst other things.

If you’re interested, head to the dedicated event page on the Visit Northwich website.

The deadline for expressions of interest is midnight on Friday, January 25.
