A MAGICAL moment was captured when a young girl met Santa.

Rosie Dickens was at home on Thrush Way in Winsford with her parents Sara and Craig when they heard sleigh bells ringing.

"The excitement was incredible," said Sara. "We didn't know he was coming. She was ecstatic! Rosie was wrapped up in her dressing gown and ran out into the street. Santa allowed her to stand next to his sleigh. It was a lovely moment. Her face says it all, she was beaming."

The eight-year-old who enjoys horse riding is a pupil at Davenham Primary School.

"We are getting her a big surprise as a special present," added Sara. "It will be an exciting trip of a lifetime.

"We would like to say a huge thank you to the Rotary Club for the effort they make and the time they give. It was freezing cold but all the ladies were out collecting with their buckets."

Santa and his helpers will be travelling through the streets of Winsford every weekday evening from 5.30pm to 8pm until Friday, December 21.
