A CRASH involving four heavy goods vehicles brought traffic on the M6 to a standstill.
Firefighters were called to the northbound carriageway between junctions 18 and 19 shortly before 11am.
No one was trapped inside any of the vehicles and none of them were carrying hazardous materials.
Two people were treated at the scene by paramedics.
Lanes one and two of the motorway were closed by the police and Highways Agency as emergency services worked at the scene.
Firefighters helped the police make the scene safe.
