A SOUP kitchen is being launched in Winsford.
Big-hearted gran Georgina Lockett hopes to make a difference to the homeless and anyone who is struggling to make ends meet.
The florist will be serving soup and bread on Thursday, December 6 from 5.30pm to 8pm and plans to run it every Thursday until Christmas.
"It's all about giving something back to the community," said mum-of-two Georgina, 60, who opened her own florist shop. Georgina's Incredible Blooms on High Street in the town centre.
"It has turned cold. Anyone can come down and have some warm soup and a roll."
Georgina has also been collecting warm clothing to distribute to people in need.
"I'm going to put out boxes of clothes so men, women and children can help themselves.
"I'm collecting jackets, jumpers, coats and blankets that are clean and in good condition."
Georgina plans to serve the soup on a gated drive beside her shop.
Any volunteers willing to help are asked to turn up at 5pm.
Donations of soup and fresh bread would be much appreciated.
