VOLUNTEERS will be helping to spruce up the town today.
Friends of Winsford Town Park will be working with Jo Fawcett, the horticulturalist who designed the park's planting scheme from 10.30am to 1pm.
The team has already helped to plant thousands of spring bulbs.
John Malam, from the group, said: "We'll be continuing with light weeding in the meadow area where the sculptures are located, and also some tidying up around the edges of the ponds.
"But if the ground is too wet, we'll do some work in the woodland area instead."
Anyone is welcome to turn up.
Volunteers are asked to bring their own hand trowels, hand forks and buckets and sacks if possible.
Helpers are advised to wear gardening gloves and suitable footwear.
At the end of the session, volunteers plan to walk over to the Novel Bite cafe in the library, run by students from Warrington and Vale Royal College.
Anyone coming by car is asked to park in town and walk across to the park.
The group is hoping to organise some weekend sessions in the coming months for people who would like to help but are not free during the week.
