POLICE cordoned off McDonald's in Northwich last night and staff and customers were evacuated after receiving a hoax bomb call.
The McDonald's fast food restaurant in Manchester Road received the call shortly before 10pm.
It is believed that the caller claimed that a bomb was in the restaurant.
The building was immediately evacuated and police were on the scene soon after.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "At approximately 10pm on Sunday, November 25, police were called to reports that a threat had been made against a restaurant on Manchester Road, Northwich.
"Officers attended and on arrival at the scene the premises had already been evacuated.
"A thorough search was undertaken by specialist officers and there was no trace of anything suspicious. Officers left the scene at around 11pm.
"Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 251691."
