A FUN-FILLED day inspired toddlers and their families to support disadvantaged children and young people.

Children and staff at Sunrise Nursery at Wharton Children's Centre on Bradbury Road in Winsford raised £631 for BBC Children in Need.

Toddlers wore their pyjamas and spotty clothes.

Staff and parents donated items for a tombola and local businesses generously contributed prizes for a raffle.

Prizes included a signed Crewe Alexandra football, a meal for two at the Red Lion, cinema tickets, a family photoshoot by Gareth Roy Photography, a family meal at the Badger Inn, and a £25 voucher for the Fishpool Inn.

Nursery manager Clare Ryder said: "It was such a great day, we had so many donations from our families and local businesses.

"I would like to thank all the team for their help in planning and organising the event. It was fantastic for us to raise such a huge sum for Children in Need.

“It’s a fantastic feeling to know we’re helping raise money for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.”
