THE Middlewich Round Table has announced that this year’s beer festival was one of the most successful events yet.
The event took place in late October in the Royal British Legion, in Lewin Street, and raised over £7,000 for Middlewich Round Table charities.
Jack Roberts, from the round table, said: “We had record numbers this year and are really pleased with how it went, we could not have asked for a better weekend.
“Planning is already underway for next year and considering how popular the decade discos were, we are debating what years we could do next year. Maybe 90s?
“We sold out of almost all our beer so that's good, the dark beers were most popular so maybe more of those next year. Titanic Cherry dark won beer of the festival.”
Total takings for the event were around £12,000 and a portion of that will be going to the poppy appeal.
Jack added: “We would all just like to say a big thanks to all our sponsors as without them we would not have made anywhere as much money for charity as we did.
“At charity festival like ours, sponsors are really important. And another big thank you to all our thirsty customers who came and drank us dry.
“Food was very popular this year so will definitely be returning next year.
“The Wildfire Pizza Company from Sandbach did so well that they will be outside the Middlewich Royal British Legion every Wednesday night from now on.”
