A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a man was stabbed in the body and slashed in the face in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were sent to flats on Curzon Place on King Street in Earlestown at around 1.15am where they found a 26-year-old man had suffered stab wounds to his body and face lacerations.
The victim taken to hospital and his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
A 19-year-old old man from Newton-le-Willows was taken into custody in connection with the assault.
He was also arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a class A drug.
The man has been bailed until December 6.
