ST MICHAEL’s and All Angels Church in Middlewich has placed its own silent silhouettes at the church windows.

Simon Drew, church rector, said: “It was the idea of a church member who saw the silhouette in the library and though that we could do with one of them.

“After we managed to get one another church member said he could make our own. So we now have four.

“They are placed either side of the original Middlewich First World War memorial standing guard to commemorate the centenary of the war.”

“It was quite organic really, we certainly did not plan it.”

The silhouettes were designed to symbolise the communities that took part in the First World War.
