TWO King Street residents have been left feeling ‘sickened’ after two of their bikes were stolen from their shed overnight.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 10pm on Monday, November 5 and 6.20am Tuesday, November 6.

Richard Bonser,50, said: “I’m a very keen cyclist, I have a variety of bikes and I am aware of how much they cost.

“I’m quite secretive with where I keep them.”

The two bikes that were stolen were bright green SCOTT E-Genius 710 plus bikes with high quality alloy road wheels fitted.

Richard woke up to find that the door to his shed had been smashed open.

“I was up at 6.30am and I went to the shed, which is quite a substantial building and you cannot see it from the front of the house.

“They are extremely expensive.

“Someone knew about the bikes and where they were kept and they knew which bikes to take because I had more than two in there as well as all of my tools.

“It’s sickening and frustrating. It begs the question what do you need to do to keep things secure?

“The door is bolted and there is usually a vehicle blocking the door. “Someone must have been scoping our house because the bikes were stolen the one time the vehicle was not blocking the door to the entrance to the shed.

“I suppose I could get an alarm installed or CCTV, but even then you do not get a clear image of who it is it is .”

Richard is offering a reward for anyone with any information that leads to the return of the two bikes.

Richard added: “I would to appeal to the person who has done this to return the bikes, I would rather that than someone needlessly go down the path of crime.”
