A LARGE team of firefighters tackled a fire at a three-storey house in Rudheath last night.

Fire engines from Middlewich, Lymm and two from Northwich, were sent to Farm Road, off Middlewich Road, at 7.27pm last night, bonfire night.

They tackled the roof fire for more than two-and-a-half hours.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: “Firefighters extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and one covering yet. The team removed the roof tiles from the property and dampened the area down.”

Police closed Farm Road and Middlewich Road for several hours while firefighters tackled the fire.
