FIREFIGHTERS tackled a car fire and an outbuilding fire in Middlewich last night.

Crews from Holmes Chapel and Winsford were sent to Queen Street at 10.03pm last night, bonfire night, where they found an outdoor toilet building on fire.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: "The fire is an outside toilet which was approximately two metres by one metre.

"After extinguishing the fire the team used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots."

Firefighters from Sandbach were also sent to Middlewich at 10.05pm to deal with a car fire in Brooks Lane.

The crew spent several hours at this incident, attempting to stem a quantity of oil which had leaked from the vehicle into a nearby stream.
