PUPILS at Cledford Primary School stepped back in time to learn about the First World War during an interactive and sensory experience.
Scott Knowles, from The Tommy Teaches, visited the school on George VI Avenue to help pupils understand history through hands-on workshops. Dressed as a First World War soldier he took along artefacts such as a soldier’s pay book and marching kit.
Jane Booth, headteacher, said: “Children at Cledford have been taking part in a term-long project to commemorate the end of the First World War and its centenary. They have used the arts, especially drama, to help them understand what happened and its effect on our lives today.
“Cledford Primary School would like to thank the Heritage Lottery Fund who have funded this project along with Middlewich Heritage Society.”
