WINSFORD Christmas street festival is moving back to the old High Street, town councillors confirmed at a meeting on Monday.

The fun-filled family event will take place on Friday, November 30.

Town mayor Cllr Gina Lewis said plans to hold the celebration in Winsford Cross shopping centre had been changed because of work being carried out on the town centre development.

Retailers have asked if the lantern parade could go through the centre so they could see the children.

Cllr Malcolm Gaskill said shopkeepers would also like to take part in the annual best dressed window display.

Cllr Lewis said every effort will be made to include all retailers in the centre and on the old High Street.
