A HOUSING site manager who started work as an apprentice bricklayer has been commended for leading the construction of outstanding homes.

Danny Jones from Taylor Wimpey North West won a seal of excellence award in the second round of NHBC pride in the Job Awards 2018 for the Spring Croft site in Winsford.

Now in their 38th year, these coveted awards are the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry.

They recognise and reward a site manager’s dedication to achieving the highest standards in house building and their commitment to building homes of outstanding quality.

Competing against 38 other site managers who received a quality award in the first round of the competition in June, Danny received his award at a ceremony held at The Hilton Manchester Deansgate last week.

When asked what he enjoyed most about his job, Danny, who started out as an apprentice bricklayer, said: “I love building a great team to help support me to meet challenges and produce a good quality house.”

NHBC Regional director Ian Davies said: “To reach this level of the competition means without question you are one of the best site managers in the house-building industry.

"Danny is building homes to a high standard and is a worthy winner of a seal of excellence award.

“At NHBC we believe that recognising the outstanding workmanship of the best UK site managers plays an important role in raising the quality of homes for the benefit of the people who will live in them."
