A NEW life saving defibrillator has been donated to the Kinderton Hotel thanks to the work of Middlewich resident Linda Boden.

Linda is a campaigner for SADS UK and for 12 years has been raising money for more defibrillators in Middlewich.

SADS UK raises awareness of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome , which is a type of cardiac arrest, and funds research and medical equipment such as defibrillators.

Laura Ellison, 26, events manager at the Kinderton, said: “One of our staff members did a charity run with Linda last year and she mentioned then about getting a defibrillator at the Kinderton.

“We will definitely be doing fundraising for SADS UK next year but we are not sure what we are going to do yet.

“We have not got the box yet but Linda is currently sorting that out.”

The hotel received the defibrillator on Monday, September 24 and it is kept in the hotel entrance.

The money that Linda raises for the life saving equipment usually comes in the form of public donations through collection boxes.

Speaking to The Guardian after securing a second defibrillator for Middlewich Town Football Club Linda said: “The support we receive is amazing, after 12 years people are still donating to the collection boxes for us.”
