HARVEST festival celebrations are being held to support elderly people.
Residents and staff at Overdene House Care Home on John Street are inviting the community to collect hampers for elderly neighbours on Friday, October, 5 from 12 noon until 3pm.
Cakes and refreshments will be served to visitors.
HC-Onc homes are hosting events in support of Silver Sunday to help combat loneliness within the community and help to increase happiness and wellbeing.
Ruth Yates, managing director of HC-One homes, said: “We cannot wait to welcome everyone into our homes to take part in what will be a fantastic day.
“Supporting Silver Sunday is a very important cause.”
Silver Sunday provides an opportunity for elderly people living independently in the community to meet new people, make new friends and have meaningful moments in the company of others.
