EXPERTS in supporting people with disabilities and health conditions will gather in Winsford next week to offer their support.

The Jobcentre, based in the Public Services Hub in Winsford’s Wyvern House, will host the Health and Disability Support Event on Wednesday, September 12, to help disabled people and those with physical and mental health conditions change their lives.

The event is open to residents from 10am to noon where experts from different organisations which support people with health conditions and disabilities, such as Mid Cheshire Mind, the National Autistic Society and Carers Trust For All, will be present in the same place at the same time.

Cllr Louise Gittins, cabinet member for communities and wellbeing, said: “Advice on accessing the support which is available in the community will be offered to those who attend this important event.

“You will have the support of experts to help you make changes at your own pace, develop skills, increase your confidence, overcome obstacles, improve your wellbeing and gain employment.

“You may or may not be looking for work or voluntary work but if you would like support in this area, organisations will be available for you to have a chat and access further support if you would like it.”

Wyvern House’s new public services hub offers residents access to support with employment, housing, health and welfare reform. They will be given help to prepare CVs, develop IT skills and apply for jobs.

The refurbished facility on the ground floor is home to Job Centre Plus, the Work Zone and Citizens Advice. Also on site are Forhousing and Weaver Vale Housing Trust Work and Enterprise team, which works alongside council services making it easier for residents to get all the help they need.
