FAMILIES stepped back in time to make their own shields at a fun-filled activity day at Weaver Hall Museum.
More than 70 children took part in the craft event.
Education assistant Phil Robinson said: “We used collage and paint and made shields in the style of the Romans, Vikings, Normans and superheroes.”
Children can make and decorate a clay tile to take home on August 22 and 23 or build a 3D model of their favourite historical site on August 29 and 30.
Drop in sessions run from 10am to 4pm and cost £1.80 per accompanied child.
For further information call the museum on 01606 271640.
