Delamere Dairy is celebrating after collecting 15 awards, including five golds, at the Nantwich Show.

The awards were made for outstanding product quality and taste and rewarded products including Delamere’s mild cheese, spreadable goats’ butter, honey goats’ yogurt, semi skimmed goats’ milk and sterilised banana milk.

The Silver accolades recognised its honey goats’ cheese log, sheep cheese and its strawberry goat’s yogurt. Newly launched goats’ cheese pearls - perfect for salads, were included in the Bronze awards - with both the plain and the Honey variety receiving recognition.

Delamere also received a number of highly commended recommendations, to add to the awards collected, delighting the team at the Knutsford-based business.

Pat Brunt, sales and marketing director, said: “Our NPD team work tirelessly to innovate and look for new products that will deliver on taste and quality. It’s great that the new pearls are up there, with other more established products from our goats’ range and the number of awards collected, is testament to the farms and the teams that we work with to bring these products to consumers.

“We are delighted with the success of so many awards and look forward to another busy Nantwich Show next year, it’s a great benchmark of quality and consumer taste.”

Delamere Dairy was founded in 1985 in Delamere Forest, when Liz and Roger Sutton bought their first three goats.

They began by selling the fresh goats’ milk and soft cheese they made in their kitchen to local health food stores. Such was the interest in their products, that only a couple of years later they were supplying milk to major UK retailers.

By 1992 Delamere Dairy had outgrown its home in the forest and moved to Yew Tree Farm in Knutsford.
