A NURSERY in Winsford has been rated as ‘outstanding’ in a recent Ofsted report.

Start Well Learning Limited were able to celebrate the last day of term with the news that inspectors viewed their school as ‘outstanding in all areas’

Children left in the care of the staff were regarded as ‘confident and highly motivated to learn’ when the inspector, Alison Hobbs, visited the school for the inspection in early July.

Leaders and staff are ‘passionate about the early years’ and ‘strive for excellence’.

The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities both indoors and outdoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning.

Ms Hobbs felt that their approach made by the staff is ‘highly effective’ and children were able to flourish in the ‘welcoming and safe environment’.

She added: “The manager is a highly reflective practitioner and embraces opportunities to develop the provision further, considering the views of everyone who attends the setting. For example, she is considering further ways to enrich children's wonderful curiosity about the natural world.”

Children from the nursery recently visited The Laurels care home, in Walnut Drive, on Thursday, July 19, for an afternoon of fun with the residents.

Mary Brown, nursery manager, said: “Some children won’t have any elderly relatives, so this is nice for them to get to see and understand what their life is like.”

To further improve the quality of the service the school provide, the inspector said: “The provider should continue to build on the excellent opportunities for children to explore and experience the natural world.
