A POPULAR restaurant in Winsford is set to expand into Northwich after an application has been submitted for planning permission to the council.

Plans would see a disused office building, Witton House, converted into a branch of Fryday’s, a takeaway which is already a hit with residents in Winsford.

The American-style diner serves a range of food from all-day breakfasts, fish and chips, burgers, hot dogs, fries and desserts.

The expansion of the business would create three full-time and two part-time jobs, according to documents submitted online to the council.

The site looks to retain the existing eight parking spaces, including one disabled bay.

Access to the site, off Station Road and the gyratory, would be shared with neighbouring businesses such as Station Road Garage, The RAFA Club, Dave’s Gym, The Gladstone Club and a commercial builder’s yard.

Two existing access points will be closed off and a new entrance will be created in the centre of the plans to reduce potential ‘conflicts of movement at the junction’, according to plans.
