A YOUNG mum from Winsford will be holding an event this weekend to highlight an ongoing battle with a rare type of cancer.

Elishia Donnellan was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a form of soft tissue cancer, whilst she was pregnant in November 2017.

Her mother, Andrea, said: “Elishia is a single mum who has a 19-month-old beautiful little boy – Caelan, whom she absolutely adores and it is him who is keeping her fighting until they can find a cure.

Her cancer has spread to her lungs and collar bone, which requires her to undergo a 14-month long chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment course to try and shrink the tumours.

The 21-year-old is striving to raise awareness of the illness as it currently receives no government funding.

This is being done through a family fun day event to be held at Knight’s Grange Pub, in Grange Lane, on Saturday, July 14, starting at 12.30pm.

There will be live entertainment, plenty of stalls, BBQ, Penalty shootout, Tombola and a raffle with prizes including a signed Everton football, Man United Tickets and a spa day to name a few.

In conjunction with the Ewing’s Sarcoma Charity, the proceeds will also be split with Mummy’s Star -for mum’s who are diagnosed with cancer during their pregnancy and beyond.

Elishia said: “We would welcome any help on the day from anyone and hope that the people of Winsford can come together to offer their support for such a worthwhile cause.”
