RESIDENTS were invited to enjoy an afternoon tea with the Mayor to celebrate the work done by the NHS on its 70th birthday.

Town mayor, Cllr Gina Lewis, posted an invite for those born in the same year as the NHS to come and celebrate at the Gingerbread Tree Café at the Winsford Cross Shopping Centre in Dingle Lane.

In total, more than 20 residents turned up to show their support for the health service that was formed 70 years ago to the date.

At the event, people were able to sign a birthday card and leave a message of thanks and appreciation for the NHS.
