POLICE are appealing for information after two burglary incidents occured on the same night in Middlewich.

Around 1.40am on Thursday, May 3, a homeowner disturbed two men as they tried to break into his house in Wallenge Road.

The two men, of slight build and wearing dark clothing, ran away from the property before fleeing in a black BMW 3 Series.

One of them was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up.

At 6.15am, a homeowner on Woodstock Drive woke up to discover that their house had been broken into overnight.

Rooms had been searched but nothing had been stolen.

Two men wearing hoodies with their hoods up were seen looking over the fence of the property on Woodstock Drive at around 11pm on Monday, April 30.

They ran off when they realised they had been spotted.

Cheshire Police believe that the incidents may be linked are appealing for anyone who witnessed anything in the area that night which may help with their investigations to get in touch.

They are also keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may know who the offenders are or has any information regarding the black BMW 3 Series.

Det Sgt Martin Caldwell said: “Your home is the place that you should feel most safe.

"It is deeply unsettling to know that someone has broken into, or tried to break into, your home and we are determined to catch the offenders and bring them to justice.

“Enquiries into these incidents are ongoing and I urge anyone who thinks they know who the offenders are, witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the times that the incidents took place or has any information about the black BMW 3 Series to call 101, quoting incident number 52885.
