A MAN has been jailed for four-and-a-half years after a police raid uncovered £2,000 worth of class A drugs at a house in Middlewich.

Kieron Murphy, 25, of Delaware Crescent, Kirkby, admitted possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

Crack cocaine with a street value of £1,100 and heroin with a street value of £910 were seized from a property in Tewkesbury Close, Middlewich, after Cheshire Police executed a search warrant on March 24, 2017.

The house also contained drug paraphernalia and a mobile phone containing numerous text messages regarding drug dealing.

Murphy’s DNA was found on the phone and on the plastic wrapping surrounding the drugs.

He was one of four people in the house when it was raided.

Officers gained entry from the back door and saw Murphy in the lounge throwing a package of drugs upstairs.

PC Mark Cook said: “Drug dealers cause so much damage to our communities.

“They often think they are above the law and I hope this sentence sends a strong message to those involved in, or planning to be involved in, the supply of drugs that they are not invincible and will be caught.

“I want to thank the Crown Prosecution Service for their help in the prosecution.

“I would also like to thank the public for their help in providing us with information they have about suspected drug dealers and drug dens and to encourage them to continue to come forward, contacting Cheshire Police on 101. Together we can tackle those who blight our communities with illegal drugs and help to stop them from being on our streets.”

Murphy also pleaded guilty to selling class A drugs to an undercover police officer on two occasions in Liverpool city centre.

He sold the officer heroin on 29 September 2016 and cocaine on 4 October 2016.

Murphy was sentenced for both the Liverpool and Middlewich drug offences at Chester Crown Court on Monday 5 February.

His two years and four months sentence for the two Liverpool offences and his four-and-a-half years sentence for the Middlewich offences will run concurrently.

Daryl Seerey, of Seymour Road, Liverpool, was also charged with possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply in connection with the police operation in Middlewich.

The 21-year-old failed to appear at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on 14 December 2017.

Cheshire Police are appealing for anyone with information about Seerey’s whereabouts to get in touch.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting reference number 827 of 24 March 2017, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
