A SEX offender who has been charged by police on suspicion of attempting to abduct a child in Middlewich, has pleaded not guilty in court.
A 15-year-old boy was walking home on Sunday evening near to St Mary’s Primary School when the alleged attempted abduction took place.
Andrew Rigby, 34, from Wheelock Street, was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of attempted abduction of a child and two breaches of a sexual offences protection order.
Rigby was subsequently charged and appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court yesterday.
He pleaded not guilty and will appear at Chester Crown Court in December to face trial.
